May Round Up – Traffic And Income

This is the 7th traffic and income report and time has really been flying! Last month I realised that I needed to spend more time promoting the blog rather than adding more content to it.

I took that onboard and started to write for other blogs! last month I had my guest post featured on Matthew Woodwards site and this month I have written a couple more epic blog posts that are due to be featured on some pretty big named blogs in this industry!

Every month I publish my traffic and income reports to give you guys a general idea of what I have been up to and how my blog is progressing! Hopefully this will inspire you to reach your own goals

 

 

 

What Have I Got Up To In May

You may think that May has been a slow month as I only managed to get 2 posts out, but I have been working just as hard as usual. My other online businesses have required my attention a lot more this month and this took up a good chunk of my time.

Although I would love to work on this blog 24/7, I have to realise that my other businesses are already established and are my main earners, so It’s important that I do not lose focus with them.

 

Went To Spain For a Few Days

 

 

As usual I took a few days away. This time I was back in Spain but I did manage to Write a guest post that Is going to be published early June on a high authority blog!

We had a relaxing time with the family and I returned fresh! which is always good when u’ve got a ton of stuff to get though!!

 

Added an  Optin Monster Pop Up Form

Ive been meaning to do this for a while. Although I have never been a fan of pop up’s I had noticed that it was working for a lot of marketers, so I thought I would give it ago because increasing my email list is very important.

 

I installed the plugin and set up a simple opt in box that pops up after 60 seconds of the visitor being on the site. I then set up a split test for the same optin box to pop up after 30 seconds!

I can tell you that the ’30’ seconds box outperformed the ’60’ second by 178%

I am now currently testing 2 different call to action buttons!

I only just started this new split test but Im already seeing some interesting results! I’ll let you know how it gets on in next months traffic and income report.

 

Added Image Links To The Sidebar

You may have already noticed that I have re-arranged the sidebar slightly and added some images to brighten up the blog. I have created 3 box that link to some of the popular pages on the blog!

 

New Posts Published This Month

A quiet month in terms of new posts. I only managed to get 2 out there. I don’t want to publish posts for the sake of it. I would prefer to publish 1 or 2 quality posts than 4 or 5 ‘ok’ posts!

Traffic

Last month we had 3,573 visitors with 8,428 page views!!

 

 

 

Traffic is up again this month (but only just). We had 3,623 visits. I would have liked to see more but at least we are heading in the right direction!!

 

Where Did The Traffic Come From

 

BHW traffic is up on last month as I have been involved in the forums a little more. Im also happy to see that our Google organic traffic has reached over 500, which was one of my targets last month!

CloudIncome also made an appearance thanks to Lewis featuring one of my posts in his monthly Link Love.

Round Up

Although it’s been a busy month as usual it does not seem like we have got much to show for it, although I have been working my ass of on writing guest posts, looking after my other businesses and preparing content for June!

I did manage to reach all of my goals set last month! which was to get a guest post (should be published any day now), reach over 500 Google organic clicks, added a pop up form and increased my visitor from forums!

I also added the images to the sidebar, so hopefully they will work well!

 

Plans for next month

Next month I plan on publishing 2 epic posts, so be sure to look out for them! I also plan on getting 2 more guest posts out there!

I would also like to see my Google traffic hit 750+ and for my email subscribers to jump to 200+

I really need to concentrate on promotion because the blog is growing at a slower pace than I anticipated!

5k visitors a month is a target that I need to reach soon!!
