January 2015 Traffic and Income Report

Filed in Blog, Monthly Round Up & Earnings by on February 5, 2015 5 Comments

The first month of the new year and I managed to get 1 new post out, which is one better than last month.

As usual I will publish my traffic and Income report and reveal everything I have been up to this month!

What Have I Got Up To In January

After not publishing any new posts last month, the first thing I wanted to do was to write a new post for the blog, which I did.

I published a tutorial on using SEMRush to find out exactly what your competitors are ranking for. This is a great tool and definitely worth looking at!

Again, the majority of my time was spent on my other online business. I took the plunge this month and hired a marketing manager to run that side of things, so this has really taken a weight off my shoulders and hopefully freed up a bit more time to work on this blog!

Went on a couple of trips

I decided to treat the girlfriend to a weekend in London for Christmas, We stayed at the Shard and went to see Phantom of the opera which was great!

We also went to Dublin for the weekend with a group of friends to sample the nightlife and the Guinness!!

Traffic

Traffic is up on last month by over 500 visits. Not bad considering I didn’t do anything apart from publish 1 post!

Summary

Another quiet month in regards to content. I managed to get away a couple of times too. For some reason our metrics have dropped slightly but it was another good month in terms of profit, with the majority coming from my purchased site!

Plans for next month

Again I plan on getting at least 1 quality post published, but I will try to add more if I can. I have done very little in terms of promotion lately so this is something I need to work on. I have no trips planned so that should leave me with a bit more time

I also experienced a drop in DA, PA in most of my websites, any clue why this is happening?
*Your purchased website is doing pretty great!

Congrats on hiring a marketing manager Jason!

About the DA/PA drop, sometimes Moz actually shrinks their index after an update(last update was Jan 27, 2015) and that usually causes drops in metrics across the board. If other sites in your niche are dropping as well that’s likely the cause.

Also, I’ve seen the same referrer spam from darodar.com / semalt.com in quite a few analytics accounts in recent months. Wonder how effective that actually is for them.

    Hey Jason,

Congrats on a good month. How is the Amazon niche case study? I’m keen to follow as I’m about to embark on a similar venture.
